“Thurrock Council have launched a brand new set of self-compacting bins to be piloted in the area’s town centres. The pilot will see ten solar powered litter bins, called the ‘Big Belly Bins’ take to the streets of Thurrock and Grays. The ten bins will all have a compaction system inside, in order to ensure more waste can be packed into them. The bins will be able to take regular litter and dog mess – like all public bins. The installations are part of the council’s ‘clean it, cut it, fill it’ initiative.”
